Political Philosophy
I believe in bottom-up democracy. That means that power resides in and stays with the citizen-voters to the greatest extent possible. It should not and will not reside in some elite group at the top of the political pyramid. That is why my one and only promise is to vote in the US Senate the way the majority of the Illinois citizens vote by computer or telephone balloting on each issue.
My role as a Senator will be to accurately state the issue in a neutral and objective manner, lead the voters’ debate, perhaps suggest an answer, co-ordinate the computer vote, and then vote in the Senate according to the will of the majority – even if I do not agree. That is as close to real, genuine democracy as we can get now.
My general political philosophy is that all authority must justify itself in terms of the common good. No institutional authority is presumed to be self-justifying. If an institution cannot justify itself as being beneficial for the public good or in the public interest, it should be dismantled and thrown into the junk heap of history. For starters, this applies to political parties that no longer serve the public good, secure the blessings of liberty for the people, or promote their general welfare as the preamble to the United States Constitution demands.

Mr.D, I think it is awesome that you are running. I like how you say that you will vote according to the will of the majority, even if you do not agree. I wish you the best of luck, and you definitely have my vote.

Thanks Samantha,
Please spread the website address to as many of your friends as possible and ask them to do the same if they like it. This election is winnable with support from people like you and your friends. We are just getting started. I’m going to do some short videos, 60 seconds or so, on the main ideas so people will get to know me. Any Illinois citizen that helps will get one vote on each issue. I hope it will be thousands, then hundreds of thousands and on up to millions. I’ll work out the details with the voters as we go along.
Thanks again,
Mike

Thanks Justin. We will need all the help we can get. Starting March 23rd, we need to collect 25000 signatures from registered voters in Illinois to get on the ballot. Needless to say, all Johnny Cash fans are welcome to help.

I have created a Facebook group for people opposed to electing Mark Kirk. I request you join and encourage your supporters to join.

OK, thanks, please check it out people. We support bottom-up democracy which means the majority of the people interested in an issue will determine my vote in the Senate rather than the vested interests that finance the Republicans and Democrats. We’re not only opposing the Republican and the Democrat, but we are also proposing an alternative that puts real political power in the citizens’ hands.
